Sherwood Forest is the only presidents home that is privately owned and maintained by a president's grandson and his family, which has continued to reside at the presidents plantation since 1842. the family has placed the Plantation and its grounds in a Foundation designed to keep and maintain this national asset for future genrations. Admissions and visitor support provide assistance in the maintenance and preservation of this historic site which has been given the honor of receiving all three of our nations most prominent historic designation recognition awards.
